Not only this, 10% of the people had to pay 100-500% more charges while 30% of the people paid only the regular fee. It did not limit these plundering and black marketing to ambulance services only; they had access to life-saving medicines. Life-saving drugs were also sold at throwaway prices. These drugs were also black-marketed.
According to the survey, during this period, there were 19% of people who bought expensive medicines at a fixed price. People also got rigged in getting their disease tested. When people were getting the corona test done, the governments had fixed the rates of RT-PCR, but people also raised the rate of this test to the sky. 13% of people got the costly RTPCR test done contrary to the prescribed standards.
Oximeters were in great need of people during the Corona period. There was anger for him too. The consignment of consignments of oximeters started going up due to black marketing. According to the survey, some people paid up to 5 times more for the oximeter. Moreover, oxygen concentrators whose MRP was Rs 33,00, these concentrators were sold for lakhs. Their cost was 1 lakh or more.
According to the survey, the prices of oxygen cylinders were also hurting the people. They sold new oxygen cylinders and refill cylinders at 300-400% more than the fixed prices. Let us tell you that 38,000 people from 389 districts of the country had taken part in this survey of local circles, of which 67% were males and 33% were females. 44% of the people included in this survey were from Tier-1 cities, 33% from Tier 2, and 23% from Tier 3,4 while the rest were from rural districts.
