The condition of employed women is better in villages than in cities. There are more women in senior and middle-level management positions in villages than in cities. Their ratio of males to males in villages is much better than in cities. This information has come out in a survey study by the National Statistical Office (NSO).
According to the NSO study, the proportion of women at management level positions in rural areas in 2019-20 was 21.5 percent, while in cities it was only 16.5 percent. This shows that women are handling management better in villages than in cities.
NSO’s annual bulletin PLFS 2019-20 states that the proportion of women employed in senior and middle-level management positions estimated from PLFS i.e. Periodic Labor Force Survey 2019-20 in rural areas is 21.5 percent, which is 16.5 percent in urban areas.

In rural areas, the proportion of women in the age group of 15-64 years was higher than those in the age group of 15-64 in the labor force. In rural areas, this ratio was 30.1 percent, while in urban areas it was 23.6 percent. The overall (both rural and urban) ratio of female employees in 2019-20 was 28.2 percent.
